Mac D Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 (edited) A couple of days ago I wanted to regrease my Warthog joystick and throttle. Because Nyogel 767a is hard to come by in Europe (and not available in Holland) so I bought Nyogel 760G Long story short : 760G S#<K$ The throttle and slider are harder to move then before and the joystick isn't much better : While movement outside of centre seams a bit better, around centre the joystick is REALLY hard to move. It's almost as if the joystick suddenly has a dead centre. (Yes, when taking the joystick apart I grinded down the gimbal and removed any fabrication edges on other components so it shouldn't stick anymore) Anyway : this did work ... at all. This afternoon I found a tube of Molykote 55 o-ring grease. (Production information -> Molykote® 55 O-Ring Grease (ulbrich.cz) ) I can't find any simular production information sheet for Nyogel 767a to compare it with the Molykote 55 but maybe someone here can tell me : Can you use Molykote 55 as grease for the Warthog throttle and joystick ?? GPatricks Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 (edited) I would say yes to Molykote 55 since you already have it - https://www.worldofchemicals.com/chemicals/chemical-properties/molykote-55.html Nyogel 767a - https://www.worldofchemicals.com/chemicals/chemical-properties/nyogel-767a.html Notice Nyogel 767a is "Used to reduce free motion"..... not a desired result IMO. I would try this, have used it in the past on plastic to reduce friction, worked well and is relatively cheap.. https://www.amazon.es/Super-Lube-21030-Synthetic-Grease/dp/B000XBH9HI/ref=asc_df_B000XBH9HI/?tag=googshopes-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=264677995153&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4253433881570110535&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1005545&hvtargid=pla-315922229188&psc=1 Edited October 23, 2021 by GaryR 1 GIGABYTE X870E AORUS Elite WIFI7, Thermaltake 1200w PS \AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D - Corsair iCue Titan Liquid CPU cooler \ 64GB G.Skill Z5 DDR5 \ SBlasterX G6 \ 4TB NvMe M.2 Boot Drive \ Zotac GeForce RTX 4090 Trinity 24GB - Nvidia 576.02 drivers \ 3 Samsung LC32G53TQWUXEN 32" 7680x1440 at 144Hz Gsync \ Win11 Pro Ver. 24H2 - Build 26100.3775 \ TIR 5 \ Warthog HOTAS with VirPil stick base \ MFG V3 Pedals \ TM MFDs on 2 8" Lilliputs \ Simgears ICP \ Varjo XR-3 VR

Sorry for the late reply : Yep, the molykote 55 works like a charme Do yourself a favor : - throughly clean the joystick base (and throttle if you want to re-grease this one two), there could be a lot of plastic shavings in the base (and throttle) - see if you can borrow (or buy) Dremel : if you look in the pressure plate of the joystick (the plate that goes on top of the gimbal and were the big spring goes on top) it has a lot plastic irregualrities in the holes were the guides for the pressure plate go through. If you get these out, it will make the pressure plate move a bit smover over the guides.
