CaptJackG Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 I'm trying to set up a NDB in multiplayer for some Huey flights but have been unsuccessful. The host can receive the beacon but no other players can receive it. Is it not possible at this time or is there something I'm missing. I've used the TACAN freq. and scripting freq. with the same results. Thanks.
cfrag Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Usually, you can simulate an NDB simply by placing a ground unit (I use a neutral Hummer), and have it transmit on a set frequency. How did you implement the NDB? -ch
CaptJackG Posted November 2, 2021 Author Posted November 2, 2021 I placed a portable TACAN and set an NDB freq. Whoever (or should it be Whomever?} host the mission can receive the NDB but no one else logged onto the server.
cfrag Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Unless you insist on using a portable TACAN for a simple NDB, here's a small mission that uses a Zone and a trigger to simulate an NDB at 440 KHz. It's at Rayak, and if you hop into UH BKA, you can test if it works on network for you. When you tune to the correct frequency, your ADF will turn towards the zone's center, and you'll hear a distinct sound to identify the radio station (not morse) Hewy Loose in Syriamiz.miz

An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.
