1st of all, I would like to say that I totally enjoy this campaign, the immersion was unreal, I really felt a great achievement after completed every single mission, as none of them was walk in the park. (except the final mission for some strange reason)

Also after completed the first few missions, i sort of expecting many twist & turn / surprises in all the coming missions, which i was right, and I did not believe in the mission briefing there after 🙂

Comparing to UN and Argo campaigns, this campaign set a much higher bar and it would be difficult to beat (I really hope the Paradise Lost by Reflected and PG campaign by Stone Sky can be as good, if not better, which I'm gonna buy them anyway since I'm a Heli fanatic 🙂 )

OK now back to the topic, for some strange reason, I completed the final mission without being instructed to attack the mission objective, I could not even see any enemies or any enemy installation. I was on latest beta (2.7.7.15038) and flying in VR (HP Reverb G2), and i flew it as per flight plan in NVG mode. (else it will be pitch dark)

I was told mission success by Berlin HQ when flying toward the clearing in the earlier rescue mission, and was puzzling how it happened.

Well not complaining since I completed the campaign while expecting this would be a tough mission especially night mission in VR.

Thanks for the great and memorable campaign CHPL!

@yongkh
Thank you very much for the feedback.
Regarding the last mission. That was definitely not the way it should be.
I'm not sure if I can fix the bug until next week (next update), because there is a big update in general.
If not, please be patient, the bug will definitely be fixed this year.

Always happy landings ;)

@yongkh

Did you have problems with the FPS during the mission.
For me, the FPS drops to 7 when I fly by in Batumi?

Always happy landings ;)

Hi @CHPL

Don't recall I've any FPS issue for the final mission.

However I did have a few FPS issues such as mission 5-1 & 5-2 (where the heavy battle at the mountain begin, my fps dropped to below 10 but can be recovered if I don't look at the battle field), and mission 7 (when the speed boats beside the cargo ship appeared).

Mission 7 is more critical as the fps dropped to below 10 and will stays there and non-recoverable, I need to quit and retry a few times, and finally adjusted my graphic setting and restart my computer to be flyable.

I remembered one more mission which is also non-recoverable for the FPS, but forgot which one!

Just FYI, my hardware spec is i9-11980, RTX-3080, 32GB memory 4TB M2 SSD. Typically I can get between 35fps~40fps for my above average graphic setting in VR. In 4k (non-VR) I can get 80+fps for highest graphic setting, but I can't fly in 2D mode no more so the 80+fps is no use to me 🙂

The mission is updated and transferred to ED.
Should be included in the beta update on Wednesday.
Some things like the FPS problems are difficult or impossible to understand.
Before the update mission 11 was not playable for me, because after about 15 minutes the FPS dropped below 10.
In this case I was able to find a possible cause and fix the problem for me.
On the whole, however, I am dependent on error messages from you, this also concerns abnormally few FPS because otherwise I do not know anything about the problem itself.

Always happy landings ;)

@CHPL

Glad to hear that you have got it fixed and submitting to ED.

Also thanks for listening reported issues & taking feedback positively!

I intend to play the whole Worlds Apart campaign again soon (after I completed MI-8 campaigns!)

@yongkh

If everything goes as planned, a major update to the campaign will come in December. 🤔
Many voice overs will be renewed and voices replaced to achieve better understandability.  But also so that we use the same voices as in the current campaign in progress. This will be a direct continuation with the same acting characters.

In addition, one "pilot" has requested to be able to turn off the UH-1 at the end of the mission as well. :bash:

Since we are building missions for pilots and not occasional  players, this makes sense. Because it is just as much a part of flying as starting.

Therefore, in the future there will be two ways to end a mission. :pilotfly:
1- After the final landing with ESC, or
2- After the final landing and turning off the battery, the mission will end by itself.

Cool, renewed voice overs with clearer instruction will certainly helps lost sheep like me. Many times I really didn't know what to do next and frequently I need to watch Youtube to see what to do next! :wallbash:

Also a full simulated shutdown is much welcome, as the current option (END by shutting off the engine) somehow felt that the mission ends abruptly!

Looking forward to your next update, thanks CHPL 🙂

@CHPL

I'm happy to report to you that the final mission is flawless this time, in fact, I noticed a couple of improvement.

1. The bug of not able to see/shoot enemies have been fixed

2. No frame rate issue throughout

3. The daybreak come much earlier, which is a welcome change where NVG is no longer needed when approaching enemies base, and the pinky sky is beautiful (previously it was pitch black throughout the mission)

4. The "Too High"after completed the mission has been fixed. (or rather previously I've been bugged with "Too High"toward Berlin based could be due to not able to shoot enemy...)

5. Finally able to do a full system shutdown to end mission

I"m happy to finally complete the whole campaign and certain it will be one of the best campaign in my book for a long time!

Cheers

Great, I am very happy about that.  :cheer3nc:

It is extremely hard work to build missions in this way, but besides my own demands, it is incredibly motivating when this is noticed and appreciated.
Feedback is very important and especially your patience and understanding if something doesn't work.  DCS is a constantly changing super cool product, so there are always bugs and keeping missions running takes a lot of time.

Please do me the favor, if you have time and write a short report about your experiences in our DISCORD https://discord.gg/CXCA7rf under DLC Campaign Spring 2025 / Opinions.

Always happy landings ;)

@CHPL

I always imagine myself in the shoes of the campaign developers, and the need to be constantly fix any new bugs or issues after some major patch from DCS, and understood that it is not a 1 time fire and forget"" effort, hence kudos to all the 3rd party developers here 🙂

I am not a DISCORD users, however will surely take a look at DISCORD and give my 2 cents on this super cool campaign if I can find my way on how to do it 😉
