You also might want to flip the 'hook bypass' switch to 'FIELD'. (located at the bottom left corner of the left quarter panel) This way your AOA indexer will not blink when you have your landing gear down. When you decide to lower the hook, the 'hook bypass' switch will snap back to 'CARRIER' (electrically held). 1

IIRC Jester still says bolter though. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/dcs_supercarrier_operations_guide/ Edited December 14, 2021 by Uxi Specs & Wishlist: Core i9 9900k 5.0Ghz, Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero, 64GB G.Skill Trident 3600, Asus RoG Strix 3090 OC, 2TB x Samsung Evo 970 M.2 boot. BSS_Vidar Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 When coming out to the ship for the first time for work ups, it was required to get three Touch and Go's before going Hook down. That includes CQ. In addition, "off topic" getting 6 plugs on the Tanker was a required IFR qual. My squadron has a CQ mission with an S-3 overhead. We would launch from the ship, either Marshal overhead, or just meet at the Tanker. Everyone gets their 6 plugs, then we return to the boat in Sections for CQ. We all get three bounces then trap. It's the way be dust off the cob webs before we do any fighting. S! Retired Navy S-3 Vikings V 2 2
Uxi Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Hopefully updates to the Supercarrier ATC will include this setup as an option, if not also proper bolter communications as well.
