ED Team Popular Post [ED]Ben Posted November 19, 2021 ED Team Popular Post Share Posted November 19, 2021 In the last open beta update, we introduced improvements to the guidance of the AIM-120 C/B, these were focussed on the resistance of the missile to ECM, including the jammer “blink” effect, along with some changes to aiming error distribution and the datalink logic. This was the second step in the development of our new guidance and seeker logic for the missile, the first being the implementation of a completely new INS and datalink for the weapon, which has greatly improved that stage of the missiles flight in both supported and unsupported engagements. The next stage in the development will be a new range gate mechanism, and other work to improve the resistance of the missile to the defensive notch, and further improve the terminal guidance. We are taking a step-by step approach to the development to be sure that we have each preceding stage operating as it should, before moving on to the next. The AIM-120 is an incredibly complex weapons system, and we need to take a methodical approach to it development, taking into account the many reports that we receive from our testers and Open beta customers. Any issues in areas of the guidance yet to be improved will become more apparent as previous stages are improved, and that helps us to pinpoint problem areas and ensure that they are addressed. We look forward to bringing you further news on the continued development of the AIM-120. Thank you for your passion and support, and we’ll see you in the sky, Eagle Dynamics Team 52
