Tango Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Hi, I went and bought a webcam today to see if I can get Free Track up and running. I can only test with one point at the moment - will this work in DCS:BS or does it REQUIRE 6-DOF mode? I got a Logitec QuickCam E2500. It offers 30 FPS at only 320x240; 640x480 is limited to 15 FPS! Cost however was a mere £12.99, so I'm not complaining! :D Free Track detected DCS:BS on run, so I added a profile, but DCS:BS seems oblivious to inputs. I'm guessing this is because of the single point track mode? LEDs aren't on order yet. Which is better - IR or visible, and if visible, which color? Best regards, Tango.
GGTharos Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I'm not entirely certain that FT supports TIR libraries at this point ... which means it isn't going to work at all. BTW, wiimote gives you 1024x768 at 100fps. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Tango Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 (edited) Hi, Yeah - I tried looking for a Wii Remote but they're not available????? I got it working. ;) Free Track as of RIGHT NOW has the option for TrackIR, but I did see the notice on their site about NP. I guess FT must be {good} a problem then. ;) Best regards, Tango. GGTharos Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 That isn't the right way to look at it I don't think, but I'll save the explanation for someone else. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Tango Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 I think I can figure it out. :) It is working - that's all I care about! Now where's that Shilka... :D Best regards, Tango.
Quarrion Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 There are 8.5million wii remotes in the US alone! The notice on the FreeTrack site is referring to the fact that it cannot support TrackIR HARDWARE, which should not be confused with the ability to interface with TrackIR Enhanced games. Have fun! :pilotfly:
Tango Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 TrackIR HARDWARE, which should not be confused with the ability to interface with TrackIR Enhanced games. :D My bad... :) I received my first medal! Shame the text was in Russian! (Air Medal?) Best regards, Tango.
