Steam DCS 1.5 is missing

I'm tired of 2.+ performance and want to set up myself with the version that is far less taxing on the hardware. But suddenly, when I open version browser, I can't find 1.5 in the list: 

2.5.6 isn't running, I can't for obvious reasons switch to 2.7/OB, so how do I install the one I need?

Version 1.5.6 is no longer supported. All files of this version have been removed from the servers. Version 2.5.6 is still not working correctly on Steam. But you can use version 2.5.6 from the ED website. Technical support will help you to roll back to the old version. You should understand that some modules released recently will not be available in the old version.

Thanks for the timely reply. Do you mean I should fill the request form at https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/ ?

I understand that. Of course, if ED was releasing modules and updates for all the versions of the engine, that would be perfect, but I know they don't do that.

Yes. But I might really be able to help you faster here. Which version of the ED site game will you use? Stable or Openbeta?

No. Version 1.5.6 no longer exists. If you can install this version, you cannot download modules for this version. They are not on the server. But you can install 2.5.6. Theoretically, when you install version 2.7.7, the installer should detect the version (Win7) and install version 2.5.6 by itself. If this does not happen, I will give you a batch file to install version 2.5.6

I see. This is very sad, since my main problem was hardware requirements of 2.5+ and resulting problems. 

Please notify us when the Steam version of 2.5.6 will be repaired. In the meantime I'll just run disk versions of A-10 and Ka-50 which are luckily still in existence in my shelf.
