=Mac= Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 I suspect it has to do with the Tomcats on deck. The Hornet is best at killing things on the ground. Now, if we could just get a GAU-8 in the nose next to the AN/APG-65, a titanium tub around the pilot, and a couple of J-58 engines in the tail...
Yoda967 Posted November 28, 2021 Posted November 28, 2021 Is this an AI Hornet? Which parking spot did it start from? Players can choose which catapult they taxi to, but AI aircraft do not; each parking spot is tied to a specific catapult. This graphic shows the paths (marked in blue) from each spot to its associated catapult: https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/File:Carrier_in_model_viewer.PNG An AI aircraft will hold if the catapult it must use is occupied, and it should resume as soon as that catapult is available again. You can minimize this by adjusting the two start times...either starting the first aircraft earlier by a few seconds or the second one later. (Trial and error seems to be the only effective approach here.) I have seen some reports of a bug with the Tomcat/SC combination that results in the Tomcat sometimes getting "stuck" in mid launch cycle at the catapult. I don't know if that's fixed. I haven't seen it myself in quite a while, but IIRC, it helped to change the Tomcat's start time slightly. =Mac= Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 (edited) It was me (and a couple other MP Hornets) that were waiting to taxi to a cat. I spawned on the Six Pack yet other's spawned elsewhere. Some Hornets were able to get on a Cat. We had no AI on deck other than statics. We did have a few MP Tomcats that, typically, launched first. For me, once all A/C except for my Wingie had launched, I was permitted to taxi to Cat I while Wingie lined up on Cat 3. Yoda967 Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Mac, you may be right. Since we're in the realm of MP, I'm not much help, I'm afraid. Maybe one of the guys with more MP experience can offer some insight. Sorry. =Mac= Posted November 29, 2021 Author Posted November 29, 2021 Thanks for the help. I'm just reporting the possible bug. The Hornet is best at killing things on the ground. Now, if we could just get a GAU-8 in the nose next to the AN/APG-65, a titanium tub around the pilot, and a couple of J-58 engines in the tail...
Jself Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 any update on this one, my squadron gets this bug just about every time we all spawn on the same carrier.
BlueF16 Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 You cannot launch F14s and F18s together further there is a parking spot really close to CAT1 that closes all other cats for some reason. Another quirk is you cannot use CATI and CATII together with the F14s but you can spawn there
