SrSosio Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Hi everyone. I'm thinking of replacing my (barely) used Logitech X56, and the main candidate for that is the WW, basically because I want the F18 grip, and I don't want to purchase it separatedly if I lean towards the TM. Also, the WW looks neater, specially the throttle. However, I do have some concerns about the cables coming down the throttle handles. Those seem like they could fail over time. Seems like a design flaw to me, honestly. Those who already have experience with this HOTAS for a while, can you give me your opinion? They are out of stock until the 9th, so I still have some time to decide. If the stick was not an issue, would you choose WW over TM? I'm also thinking about getting the TM base and stick separatedly (maybe 2nd hand) and get only the WW throttle (though were I live it's not so easily found 2nd hand, and the full pack is a bargain compared to the separate items). Thank you
MustangSally Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Sorry but WW Taurus and Libra are light years ahead of the TM gear... really no comparison! As far as the throttle grip cables are concerned, not an issue. Have had my Taurus for over 12mths and they havent let me down. SrSosio Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 I just noticed there are two diferents joysticks. What's the diference between the Orion and the super libra?
streakeagle Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 One advantage the WinWing hardware has is that it was clearly designed to be repaired. I haven't asked for any help yet, but I have seen others able to get the parts they need from WinWing to solve many basic problems. So, if you if your mechanically and electrically apt and WinWing stays in business over the long haul, the experience is somewhat similar to the old CH Products support before the original owners sold the company. The main problem I see with WinWing is that they are based in China. This allows them to produce high quality products at fair prices, but also means they sometimes have trouble getting supplies they need for manufacturing and/or being able to ship stock globally between Covid related supply and shipping restrictions as well as political constraints caused by tension between China and Taiwan/USA/Japan/Korea. Most consumer grade electronics need parts from more than one of those countries, so Covid and saber rattling have really affected the global market for electronics. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Orion designed for desk use.....lighter springs and not designed to have an extension fitted. Libra designed to be mounted external to desk...monstertech etc. More spring options and designed to have an extension fitted if needed. SrSosio Posted December 2, 2021 Author Posted December 2, 2021 Thank you both. I I'll go for the libra then, cause eventually I'd like to build a cockpit, though it's a shame they don't do a cheaper bundle with the orion throttle and have to go to the supertaurus (which is supercool but I mostly play on vr) or the stick only.
