Crop to rectangle does nothing? Looking to get a 21:9 box @ highest res possible for streaming (G2)

Today I take the entire VR Mirror (Right Eye) and crop out a 1080p segment of the middle for streaming.   However, since the demise of custom resolutions with WMR, I can now only get potato quality out of my 1440p monitor with this option.  I was praying "Crop to rectangle" would solve this, by giving me a portion of the mirror that people actually want to see on stream. But it appears this box does nothing right now?

How do I configure or use this option?

It's broken. Hoping for a fix too.
