Kula66 Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 This has happened a few times ... flying along, doing nothing special when the cockpit/helicopter disappears. Still hear sound, still flying (I know because I crash soon after), I can see the mouse cursor can hit esc and q to quit and the menu loads .... Running on an HP 8710w laptop with a Quadro 8800 like video card, 4GB RAM.

Kula66 Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 Track needed. Hmmm ... I don't record tracks as a matter of course.
Ulrich Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Hmmm ... I don't record tracks as a matter of course. Every time you fly the track is recorded and stored in \Temp\ folder of Black Shark as "LastMissionTrack.trk". You may also save track from the debriefing screen after you see this issue happened.
Kula66 Posted December 1, 2008 Author Posted December 1, 2008 Ok, I have a track that died ... where do I send it?
Ulrich Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Ok, I have a track that died ... where do I send it? Ulrich[]eagle.ru or just attach it here in your post, thanks.
Ulrich Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 (edited) Ok, I saw your track and in my view version you crashed into the ground at 2449 second (hit RCtrl+Pause to see track time in seconds while viewing). No disappearing before this event happened. What's you version of viewing? Please tell the exact time of disappearing. Edited: this may happen if you are out of system memory. Kula66 Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 As you can see, my helicopter skillls are very beginner, however, I only crashed once the helicopter disappeared! No idea what time into the track that was. I doubt I'm out of system resources - my system is a fairly new install, very little rubbish and I take performance optimisation seriously (having managed 2000+ servers in the past). No other indications of resource problems. From my read the graphics glitched, view of helicopter disappeared. If it happens again I'll try and get a time ... what other info would be useful to you?

When you replay your track - does your helicopter disappear? Does it disappear the same time it disappeared when recorded? How much free memory is left right before it disappears? What will you see if you set graphics settings to "Low" preset?
