Exiler652 Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Hi Everyone, I hope someone can help me. I have a problem with my Quest 2 VR experience in DCS world. I recently reinstalled windows in an attempt to overcome this issue. What happens: Loading my Quest 2 with the Link Cable or air link works fine. The link cable gives me better performance so I choose it over the air link. I load into Rift software just fine and can load DCS World up just fine. The menu is perfect, view is perfect, no tracking issues. I load any mission or any server into play, I am still ok. Once I click the ok button on the mission briefing, everything loads in, there is a massive stutter and we are back to normal. 5 minutes in, half my Quest 2 view becomes obscured, I get tracking issues, I have terrible frame rates. Going into Rift console, everything is blurred and 1FPS, can hardly move my VR hands. What I have tried: You tube videos on best DCS World VR settings for quest 2 Oculus Tray tool A complete reinstall of windows and DCS world My system Specs: i7 8th Gen 32GB Ram RTX 3080 1 TB NVMe Decently cooled pc with AIO cpu cooler as well. I can play dcs world in 4K without VR on highest settings at 60 fps no problems.... I really want my VR experience back and really hope someone can help me T.T
Ahogephilia Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 (edited) Not enough VRAM. Lower Texture and Visible Range options. Edited January 25, 2022 by Ahogephilia
edmuss Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 He has plenty of VRAM, I can run maximum textures with 8gb without an issue. Presuming that you're not using steamvr, is there a frametime graph available for the quest2? It helps try to identify what's causing the issue. Is it smooth flying for a few minutes and then it all goes stuttery and unsmooth? If that happens, try alt tabbing to another window for a few seconds and see if it settles (this is where a the frametime graph comes in handy). If it clears then it could be linked to the following: - Ryzen7 7800X3D / RTX3080ti / 64GB DDR5 4800 / Varjo Aero / Leap Motion / Kinect Headtracking TM 28" Warthog Deltasim Hotas / DIY Pendular Rudders / DIY Cyclic Maglock Trimmer / DIY Abris / TM TX 599 evo wheel / TM T3PA pro / DIY 7+1+Sequential Shifter / DIY Handbrake / Cobra Clubman Seat Shoehorned into a 43" x 43" cupboard.
Ahogephilia Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 I also use oc2 and gtx3080. 10 gb VRAM never enough DCS in VR. Perhaps it's a problem VRAM management of DCS. In particular, it causes problems when multiplay or when Texture options too high. Lack of vram causes encode failure and creates translucent glitch into the OC2's lens. Try adjusting texture, terrain texture, visible range, AF options.
