I always thought the mini-stick used a pot and it was part of the reason it wasn't accurate. That doesn't seem to be the case. It uses a magnetic sensor. Has it always been that way?

I just bought another Warthog (that's 6 so far) direct from TM and the description says:

1 x mouse hat with push button and 3D magnetic sensor (Hall
Effect)

Yes, that's right and it was like that since the beginning. For whatever reason, Thrustmaster chose this solution instead of a conventional ministick like you can find in every gamepad and  other throttles from Thrustmaster.

Maybe because the real one in the aircraft is pressure sensitive, and they tried to emulate that with different tech - and failed.

If you intend to keep using Warthog for a longer time, Deltasim ministick mod is worth checking out.

Yes, i'll get it again. This is my 6th Warthog. I should stop selling them. 😉

To be honest. I've also used the stock mini-stick for years with no problem.

Did you get throttle only or buy the set (throttle and stick)? For some reason the TM site (US) is only showing the set or the stick separately but no throttle.
