TED Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 I've been trying all day to make an ifr training mission with an ILS to rwy 21 at Nellis. I used the overcast preset in mission editor which should put a cloud base to 300ft. But it doesn't seem to. I tried everything including dragging the base down to its lowest. Setting fog with 2000ft thickness and visibility of 1500ft. Even so I always seem to break out at about 800-1000ft agl on the ILS. What am I missing? Anyone have any ideas?
Sedlo Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 @TED, the weather presets for overcast all have a higher minimum ceiling right now. I'm not sure if that will change, but I suspect it will. In the meantime, try the Broken 6 preset and bring the minimum down to about 1900. It should give you a ceiling about 500ft over the runway. My Youtube Channel MY DCS MISSIONS

Ah ok thanks. That explains it. I'll try that. It's a bit odd as I seem to remember being able to set the cloud base right down to the deck previously but was probably a bit of a while ago now. 1
Sedlo Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 You are right, you used to be able to. It changed with the new clouds and weather presets. 1 My Youtube Channel MY DCS MISSIONS
