Hello gentlemen,

Could i get some feed back on this idea please.

I have the very first Microsoft sidewindwer FFB joystick-this is the non usb type.

Would it be worth dusting off my old Sidewinder with gameport/midi connector and buying a usb to gameport connector to make it usable once more? or should i just stick with my x52 pro?:joystick:

Has anyone tried it? the only problem i could think of is driver issues...any posistive feedback would be nice.

here is an example converter. not sure if the converter would keep the FFB though if that been the case i suppose it woud make it not worth doing.

A game port to usb solution is a no-go.(doesn't translate all midi commands that are necessary for FFB)

You need at least a cheap (sometimes less than 15€) pci sound card with a midi/game port on it to help your stick to a 'second life'.

Now that makes sence Urze, great idea it was a thought of mine that not all the signals would translate.
