Whiskey Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 So what could be the issue if you get the error 13 code with the DVD version? I'm failling on the this file every time. ........... Extracting Shapes\HEMTT_P1.LOM (704,335 bytes)...done. Extracting Shapes\HMMWV_M1025.LOM (2,116,772 bytes)...failed. Extract failed with error code 13 The game had installed with no issues before in Vista, I am now running Win 7 Ultimate.

You could have software intercepting the extracting / install. Check Antivirus Check for virus 3. There could by other "system issues" with your Windows installation. 4. Your DVD can be corrupt? Copy the content of the DVD to f.ex C:\Temp Start the install from C:\Temp\Setup.exe EDIT; 5. Full disk(s)? C: full? Edited January 2, 2010 by Panzertard The mind is like a parachute. I'll try directly to the HDD also.
Whiskey Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 (edited) No-Go. Tried both from a Thumb drive and HDD. It cannot extract random files it seems. CHKDSK and the other suggestions did not show any outside issues. I have turned my virus protection off for each instance, and have ran with the Run Administrator command. I have also tried under Xp, Vista, Vista (service pack1) comparability codes. For what ever reason, the disk has suddenly become corrupt, even though it installed with issues under Vista. EDIT: I tried the DVD again and now get this error. The disk is completely clear of any scratches. Edited January 2, 2010 by Whiskey
Panzertard Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 If you can copy the content over from the DVD to your HDD or thumb, then your DVD-Media should be okai, except.... If the set you copied; - gives the *same* problem on the same place every time you install, then the copy on your thumb/HDD have a flaw in a particular place - the copy you made is then corrupt. You may assume that your DVD media is currupt - or the mechanism that copied it for you is corrupt. - gives a *different* result (different file / or error message) every time you install it from the thumb/HDD - then you may assume that it is the place you install TO that is corrupt. (... your C: or D: for that sake - or your Windows/System - or the software/hardware that is running it). The mind is like a parachute. That PC is also running Windows 7 Ultimate. I'll try and swap drives and see what happens. I was able to install a few other games yesterday with no issues, DCS seems to be the only one that will not install. It gives the same error codes (Error code 13) every time, however it is is failing on a different file in the extraction phase (the part where it states "extracting xxx.xxMB of 1.92GB @ X.XXMB/s, X minutes remaining"). Always just over half way. I'll update this post again if it installs on the other PC. EDIT #2. Went through the PC, Registery etc and removed any trace of Eagle Dynamics, DCS. Tried to reinstall under just Win 7 and no compatibility profiles and this time it installed. I'm not going to call it a fix, but what ever was causing the issue, is not anymore.
