Problem with IHADSS borsesight, AND ALSO with auto range

2 quick questions..

 

when I cold start and do a IHADSS Boresight, it doesnt seem to work, because all my gun shots are way off, even when a proper manual range is centered and shot at..

What is the proper procedure here ? do you simple move your head to get 3 perfectly aligned yellow circles and validate, or do you actually have to move you pilot seat in game to do so ? and if so, why.

Second question. Why I can never enter an auto range in the gun ? I hit range, then type A in the scratch pad, and hit enter, but it never gets entered as a ranging method. Any clue ?
