bobnice Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Hey fellas, I am kinda new to this sim and am having a little trouble figuring out how to use the autopilot so the helicopter flies itself to the selected waypoints. In Lock on it was as easy as pressing the A key. In black shark I know how to select my waypoints using the cockpit keypad on the right but I can only manually fly to them. I watch the training videos and the producers note and read the key controls but cant figure out the procedure to engage it. Any help would be greatful.
nemises Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 (edited) Hi Bobnice, The key you are missing is [R] , which will engage "route autotpilot" mode ...as long as you have your Pitch and Roll Assist channels engaged (the blue buttons to the lower right) , and the waypoint you want to fly too selected on the PVI800 (also lower right, the keypad looking thing with Red numbers) , then when you press R , you will automatically turn to and start flying towards that waypoint at your current speed. If you want you can control your climb / decent with the collective, or engage the 4th blue button (altitude assist) , and select either Barometric hold for a constant altitude, or Radar hold for an altitude that is held in relation to the ground below it (only effective up to 300 Mtrs in altitude though). you can also change the Route autopilot to either fly directly to the Waypoint (ala Lockon), or to have it take you to the correct route line and heading first before turning to the waypoint - This is selected by another switch that can be found on the lower right hand side near the 4 blue buttons (assist channels) (this switch also has a 3rd mode which will fly you at your current heading) If you want to increase / decrease speed, you should deactivate Route autopilot mode, and re-trim the aircraft for the speed you wnt, then re-engace route mode. Good luck! Edited December 16, 2008 by nemises
