CH4Pz Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 I originally reported this as a sim issue, and the mod moved it to raven one (as i first seen it there), but im getting a similar thing in Serpents head 2 mission, "going for the chop", although its slightly different than the bug in raven. But basically on launch of the mission, i enter the ships tacan for departure and it says its 27.4 miles away, even though im on deck. Seems like a f18 bug but just thought id report it here, as i havent had it in ravens since but just checked and its still in your campaign.

Spoiler The TACAN you are picking up is correct. The Stennis you land back on is a separate carrier. I wanted the rescue Helo that picks up the downed Helo survivors to be parked on the carrier deck when you come back from the two objectives in the mission. At the time I could not find a way to spawn the returned Helo on the deck of the same carrier. So the work around was to use two Stennis carriers, the second with the returning rescue Helo parked visible on the deck. The first carrier is removed some time after you have leave it. Couldn't spawn the second carrier during the mission with all the objects placed as required. So it is a work round. Sometimes this sort of thing is necessary to get the desired mission effect within the restrictions of the DCS editor. There may now be an alternative now, will have to check. So yes not a bug..
