Looks like it's basically the old Orion base revised to support a detent assembly and finger lifts to go with it. In other words, awesome.  That's about the only thing I've been missing in the Orion, and now it's been added. Worth the wait, I'd say.

And...you can add the Collective to this base.

Couldn't you do that with the old Orion? It seemed, like you could already do it, Gemini is just a pared-down Orion base. Although, perhaps there are special features now that make it better suited for collective installation.
