AeriaGloria Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 (edited) Hello, I don’t know if S-8KOM needs to be revised. Using Quaggles repository for current LUA files, under “obj_factors” and “other_factors,” the first number in the set, which I believe is the coefficient that multiples “expl_mass” to come to actual damage done, is .5 for both “obj_factors” and “other_factors.” It is my understanding that “obj_factors” is for a direct object hit, and “other_factors” defines explosive power if hitting ground, say next to a target in a near miss. The most comparable rocket in game I believe is the smaller S-5KO, which has a 1 coefficient as the first number after “obj_factors” and “other_factors.” This should mean that while S-5KO is doing its proper .37 kg of damage for each rocket, the S-8Kom with its .855 kg explosive weight is only doing .4275 kg of damage(.855 kg expl_mass x .5). Barely more then S-5KO. Looking at most other unguided rockets, they either have 1 coefficient for both first number after “obj_factors” and “other_factors.” Or have smaller .25-.5 coefficient for “obj_factors” to deal appropriate damage for direct hit, but still 1 for first number after “other_factors” to deal full explosive weight damage if it say hits ground next to target. If this is not intended it would be great to have it looked at as well any other discrepancies, I have attached a screenshot of the warhead section of S-8KOM, and here is a link for the Quaggles LUA repository, which I believe he has special access granted by ED to post these LUAs so that ED can have these files locked while still allowing the public to view them, https://github.com/Quaggles/dcs-lua-datamine thank you Edited April 9, 2022 by AeriaGloria 3 Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
