Regaz Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Hi, i used to land on the boat with ACLS because i'm not good to level the Tomcat and mantain on speed AoA, but lately i cannot do it anymore. ACLS, when engaged starts to climb or dive without reason, or goes far off target. There was an update to the system i missed? Thanks in advance.
IronMike Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Hi @Regaz - ACLS is the last mode of the new AP that we have not finished yet, in other words it is currently broken and we recommend not to use it for the time being, our apologies for that. Autothrottle not disengaging will be fixed in the next patch however. Thank you for your kind patience. 2 1 Heatblur Simulations Please feel free to contact me anytime, either via PM here, on the forums, or via email through the contact form on our homepage. http://www.heatblur.com/ https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
Regaz Posted April 15, 2022 Author Posted April 15, 2022 Thank you. I'll try to understand how to approach manually during the wait. I hope i won't need It anymore when fixed, but it's very hard for me. My problem Is to extabilish a solid inverted regime where i can reliable control altitude with throttle like in the Hornet. I miss its FCS

I miss its FCS You don't have an FCS, so you need to use pitch and throttle together (and if you're using autothrottle, pitch alone!) to control glideslope. This is what NAVAIR 01−F14AAD−1 has to say: Quote 11.8 TAKEOFF AND LANDING CONFIGURATION FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS The aircraft exhibits a sluggish pitch response to longitudinal stick inputs. Frequent power adjustments are required in conjunction with longitudinal stick inputs to properly maintain glideslope on approach. DLC is very effective for making glideslope corrections while at the same time minimizing the need for nose movement and/or power corrections. Edited April 23, 2022 by xakura
Regaz Posted April 23, 2022 Author Posted April 23, 2022 Hi, thanks for the reply. I know the Tomcat Is old school with no fancy FCS to hold your hand. I'm glad i can say the ACLS bug was a good thing for me. After some attempt i can now properly trim for AoA and catch a 3rd wire (according to Jester more beautiful than Meg Ryan but i totally disagree ) during case I recovery.
