Hi,
i've got two little questions about ACM modes.

Does the Slew mode actually work properly and when would you use it? I Noticed that the horizontal antenna sweep doesn't change (on the FCR screen) wehn i slwe left or right. it does change as expected when slewing up/down. Most importantly however i cannot see what benefit the slewing brings in practice. I could see the benefit of the mode for long range (similar to how vertical slewing works on the mig-29) but for quickly locking someone up i think the boresight or 60° mode work so much better. In fact i couldn't really see a effective difference between slew and boresight-mode in practice (but boresight being more versatile with the jmcs integration).

For what would you use that 20° mode that searches under your aircrafts's nose? I can't think of a situation where you'd need or want that. Anyone?
So, basically i only use bore and 60° mode and that's probably just fine, however i would at least understand what the other modes could eb used for.

Thanks.

In a nutshell:

30x20 is approximately your HUD FOV, so it should pick up targets roughly in front of your aircraft

10x60 scans upwards, which makes sense when your lift vector is pointed towards the target

60x20 is slewable, so if the target isn't in front of you, but you know (or you think you know) a general direction, it can be helpful

Boresight is a 3 degrees beam width search, and can be directed by the HMCS, so it's useful when you can see the target

i see. don't think it's super sueful, but it roughly being hud size makes somewhat sense at least.
thanks!!
