I have used Smoothtrack (last with iPhone 13 Pro) for two years now and was one of those that thought TrackIR was overpriced and unnecessary.

One of the cons using SmoothTrack is that you need good light in the room and I prefer to fly with the room darkened. So finally after two years I got the Track IR with Trackclip Pro. Tested all of yesterday and got the settings the way I liked.

Conclusion: The TrackIR has impressed me. Superior precision and software and is a HIGHLY recommended headtracker if you are spending any time in DCS.

Now the calibrating of the HMCS at cold start in the F-16 is a breeze compared to before and can't wait to use the gun in the Apache...

The pricing is not very bad either. You can get the TrackIR NP reasonable on eBAY.
Got the bundle with Trackclip Pro for 135 $ including shipping.

The Trackhat works just as good for MUCH cheaper.  Is that a used one you got off of Ebay?  I don't see any new ones anywhere close to that cheap.

I guess if you wanted to order them from China.  That's still over $185 CAD for me, which is more than double what the Trackhat cost me.  I'm not sure what this means in the description either:  For TrackIR5 TrackNP5 Natural Point TrackClip / Head Tracking Flight Simulator

"For" TrackIR?  Does that mean it's a knockoff?

TrackIR is original. Trackclip pro is not a clone, but very similar as the original.
