RSWedge Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 (edited) Im interested in ordering a new WW HOTAS. I want the F16EX; Orion 2 Throttle, but I am confused on what to do about the base? The cost effective route would be to order the HOTAS bundle that comes with the Orion Joystick Base. BUT what about the Super Libra Joystick base? Would it be worth the extra $230 to not get the bundle deal (having to order all 3 separately) just to get the Libra? NOTE: I will be mounting these just below the level of my desk (Throttle on my left side and the Joystick on my right side - F16 cockpit style.) Each positioned so that my forearms are parallel to the floor when I am operating the stick and throttle. I do not plan on purchasing any of the extensions. Thanks for any input on this decision. Sorata Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 (edited) Curious about this myself. Looking at the Winwing setup to replace a Warthog that I haven't used yet but just did the grease and slew mods to and noticed the flight stick HOTAS was too wobbly for my like. Cant believe they want 130 for shipping I can save 200 by getting the Orion and preordering the bundle but if I want a Libre I have to order the parts seperate. EDIT: Ordered the libre anyway I think the difference is that the libre can use extensions and allows you to add a z axis addon and change springs and the orion does not. RSWedge Posted July 3, 2022 Author Posted July 3, 2022 Sorata - I’m heavily leaning towards what you did with having to order everything separately just to get the libra. On the flip side though the money I could save by ordering the Orion bundle I could buy more memory! when everything arrives please come back to this post and give me your thoughts on the libra and just using the desktop option without an extension. Thanks!
