RedTiger Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 :D Ps: Check the date ;) :D Wow. I read the thread title and immediately thought "WTF, again? Didn't that happen around the time the Soviet Union was there?" Dirty trick. :P
John Cool Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Didn't that happen around the time the Soviet Union was there?" Exactly. I suppose the news linked above is according to the incident from 29th of April, 1987, when an Pakistani F-16A board no. 85-720 flown by Flt.Lt. Shahid Sikander was accidently shot down with AIM-9L by his own wingman during an attempt to intercept the Russian MiG-23MLD's from 120 IAP, which were performing an ground attack sortie this time on the targets close to the Pakistani border. Geier Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Corrected JC, this was an outstanding case of shooting down! 29 04 1987 Mig23s of 190 IAP were mining the mountain passes to the south of Host. Every plane was carrying 16 FAB 100. Bombs were dropped by pitching. The leader appeared under the falling bombs. Pakistani gov decided to admit the fault of its pilot but not our win! Unfortunately the West community still think so, in spite of our pilots reports and evidences
