Perhaps I'm remember this wrong, but I could swear that, in the past, you'd get some shaking/buffeting through the transonic region, starting just under Mach 1 and abating as you got to about Mach 1.2.  What I've noticed recently is that the shaking just keeps going and never smooths out.  I tested it out up to Mach 1.6 and it never goes away.  Shouldn't the ride be pretty smooth at that point?

Are you in autopilot?

I don't think so, but I can confirm later.  I assume that would be from the 1hz stick motion the AP does if that's the case?

Yes, and if you go above 450 IAS, and especially close or above m1, you will never see the end of it. Big no-no.

Even if you turn off the auto pilot?

Okay, did a test on the F-14A Caucuses instant action mission.  Ejected all stores and tanks and never turned on auto-pilot.  The vibration/shaking started at around Mach .95 and continued all the way up to where I topped out at Mach 1.6.  I tried taking it out of AB and even idling the engines at those speeds, but the shaking did not go away until I got back down under Mach .95 or so.

I also tried it with the AP on, and it did result in some wild pitching occilations around Mach 1, but I'm not sure the shaking was much worse then with no AP.

Thank you, we will look into it. (The weird oscillations with AP on are correct btw.)

Thanks!  Yeah, figured the AP behavior was normal.  This is more of a high frequency vibration.  BTW, I thought I had mentioned it, but I am using VR.  I dunno if that makes it more noticeable perhaps (it's especially noticeable looking at the windshield frame or ACM panel).  I've talked about it with at least one other VR user who sees the same issue.

Copy, thank you. I will also check with the SMEs and Creason, because maybe it is realistic/ intended after all (don't think so though).
