Inous Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Hello all, I know this is probably a repeat but I just had one foot out the door and havent had the time to search around a bit but, I have a very high end computer (see specs at bottom) and im getting 8 fps on the helopad? is this normal? At first I ran on high thinking, well the graphics aren't the best so why would i worry about FPS, but to my dismay it ran really slow on the helo pad and in cities. So i dropped it down to medium just in case, and saw a small difference in fps, can someone direct me to a graphic setting for the 8800gtx that will give me a boost in Fps? Also I was curious which program I can use to utilize all 4 of my processor cores for this game. Aside from this, the game is one of the best simulators I have ever experienced. I'm absolutely in love with this creation! Thanks! If you dont feel like giving me a long winded answer please feel free to link me to another thread with the same questions. AlphaInfinity Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 When I had my core duo laptop I had to do the following: Turn water off in the options lua. Turn effects off in the optioins lua. Shadows to lowest settings Cockpit refresh to 512 There are instructions in the main DCS forum FAQ on how to edit the options files. Once I turned water off and effects off, I was able to get OK framerates most of the time. Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I have similar specs as you and I have everything set to max except water and my framerates are anywhere between 18 fps - 60 fps (I have my graphics synched to monitor refresh so it can't go beyond 60 fps). I would say there is some other issue you are having.
