First of all, you will have to excuse me if this has already been addressed; I searched through every page of this section for a thread on this issue, but it's also very late (or early, rather... damn you BS!) and I could have easily overlooked it.

Anyway, whenever I use TrackIR 4 and click things within the cockpit, I get a horrible screen tremble effect. I'm pretty sure the screen is centering on where the mouse was before I clicked and then snapping back to the new location. It's very disorienting, really ruins the immersion factor ya know?

So, am I really the only one that's having this issue?

...or does someone out there have a fix, perhaps?? :helpsmilie:

In Options,

Choose controls tab. Save the original control set as sometinh you can identify later.

in categories, select axes commands (note this option is the ONLY place you can control axes asignation)

make sure that any mouse axes WITHOUT key modifiers are deleted. (in my original set-up this was the absolute camera views)

now all should be fine.... (and the mouse cursor still works in cockpit)

You should also check the tracking view of the TrackIR to confirm the reflectors are correctly recognized. Depending on setup, position of the device, own seat position and distance from the monitor/TIR, you quickly run out of tracking area or get so bad angles, that the visible reflections are below the threshhold level.

Typcially the view starts trembling then, especially with low motion filters.

We seldomly had a sim, that needed you to look down that far for so long, so I noticed this with BS first, too.

Brilliant, jetski had the answer. It was the external camera controls for me. So if I remap them without a modifier it won't be a problem?

Feurerfalke: Yes, I have this issue as well, though it doesn't seem to be avoidable, at least not completely. Can anyone with a trackclip pro say whether or not it's any better at minimizing shakiness than the hat clips? It seems to me it would pretty much alleviate it, but I'm not ready to drop $40 on one without confirmation.

Good question.

But repositioning your TIR is much less expensive. I have mine inverted on top of my TFT-monitor. It has a much better scanning area for my position while flying and is less likely to fall off

By Inverted, do you mean that it's actually positioned upside down somehow? I've never tried that, but I have found that positioning it up high and further back while tipping my hat up towards it provides a pretty good scanning volume.
