Not sure I've heard a lot of people that were excited with the shaker after they got it (and it requires keeping the SimAppPro software running which may hit your framerate), so I don't know that I'd spend the money on it (might be more worth it for WW2 planes).  I have the original Orion throttle and both the F-18 and F-16 throttle grips.  The F-16 is a little fiddly to set up, but it works well in my books.   I don't use the Winwing joystick (the throttle only came as a bundle with joystick at the time or I wouldn't have bothered with it), but it seemed fine when I tried it out just to make sure it worked after I got it.  I think Winwing is good value for money (vs Thrustmaster).

I just ordered it. We'll see how I like it. I've always had the Warthog in the past unless you go way back and then it was a Cougar.

The Orion 2 stick is getting good reviews. It's supposed to be much smoother around center than the Orion 1. They went from one cam to two cam like your Virpil.

I have the Orion 2 with F-16Ex stick. I love it. The quality is really good, and all buttons correspond correctly and firmly at all times. I´ve got the shaker part enabled - its kinda cool the first 5 minutes, but after a while I do not think about it anymore. There is a easy framerate fix for the simapp running in background.

Yes you can program it directly in DCS.  That's what I do.  I haven't played with it (haven't had a need/desire to do so) but from what I understand the profiles in Winwing are a little finicky.

Yeh, do it all in dcs. Did you get the spring/cam kit? Orion 2 base has lots of options.

I'm  sure you will, it's just allowing you to have different spring tensions if you feel you need it. Also, if you fly Helicopters, you can use the cam set so that your stick stays in the position you move it to. Basically more options...

I have just the stick and love it. You can move the palm rest so you can reach all the buttons easier. Upgraded from an X-56 to this and love it. Not installing the software at all even though I would love to use the shaker. Works fine without it.

That's what I meant. I hope I like the spring tension it comes with. The spring kit is $50 and i'd hate to buy it and end up liking the springs that come in the stick.

I just spent $2500 for a new system, $300 for a monitor, and $665 for this Winwing. My wallet if feeling kind of thin.

I know what you mean as per wallet...got the F18 Orion 2 Throttle/F16EX with Orion 1 base in May 2022, then they came out with the Orion 2 base and I really want that one now with the spring/cam kit. Not going to happen this year. Then again....
