Have you by chance turned force trim off? I have an FFB stick, so I constantly turn it off.

Cheers!

is that in the setting s?

I made sure the Forced Trim Switch in cockpit is in the on position with Alt-U. My HOTAS is a Warthog - trim works on all other helos. Tried deselecting Autopilot Enable in the special options menu but still nothing.

thanks all

Yeah, I meant that switch.

Double check your trim button bindings?

Post a short track.

gonna try to post a track

i tried Alt- U nothing

i disabled Autopilot availability still nothing.

LALT + U. Is that for the trim switch on the console? Never used it as I have bound it to a physical switch.

I was referring the the trim button on the cyclic. Double check that it works on your joystick, as it seems you are the only one with this issue.

Cheers!

yeah the button works i can even see it physically going in on the cyclic in game (in and out). Same button works as trim on Apache and other games - so no button fault.

It is like the input is making to the game -- U see the trim button (you can see it in the track- zoom in) go in and out.

Reinstalled the module and still nothing! This was on a clean install.

THX~!

I tried Default and and Center release  -I don't have a FFB sop I have not used that one

The default is for FFB and instant release both. So I used that one before I got an FFB stick.

Could never get the hang of the center release, hehe.

So basically, when you start cold and dark, bring up the controls indicator, turn on force trim, press the trim button, move your stick. Release the trim button, and move your stick to center. The controls indicator trim point won't stay at trimmed position, but move to centre as well?

(No need to start up).

Yep Colds Start

I do the whole checklist or sometime auto start

I verified the force trim button on panel is ON

Instant release Set

ctrl - Enter indicators

I am light on skids

I move cyclic and move the diamond and rudder line to where I want it to stick for takeoff or hover trim...

I press mapped mutton on my Warthog (even changed it)

The diamond and line does not "stick" when I let press button like in all my other helicopters. Autopilot setting  (which I think is fake right) that does "lock down" and pin the inputs but then you cant turn or do anything until you disconnect.

WHAT IS GOING ON!!! ARGHHH!

Sorry, I haven't been on my computer, so I haven't checked your track yet.

I suggest you make a super quick track without starting up, because you don't need to.

Anyway, according to your explanation, something is not behaving correctly for you. That's for sure.

Yes, autopilot is a cheat. 😊

No problem!

I might not be home for a few days. Maybe someone else can get to it before me.

Cheers!

Force trim on the cyclic has never worked for me!

It took me a long time to even figure out what it should be doing because of that. Now after watching a few videos, I'm fairly certain it just doesn't work for me.

Now that I know what it should be doing, it looks like it does work for the rudder.

Furthermore, I can see the zero-position of the trim (the red X) being set appropriately when I activate the trim. The rudder input changes to match, but the cyclic does not. It just ignores the trim position.

I'll try to include 3 tracks demonstrating this: 2 with different settings on the Apache, and one with the Huey. The symptoms are the same in all cases.

(Edit: only including two tracks because of upload limits.)

Quick update: It works now!

On a hunch, I completely uninstalled vJoy and removed the virtual joysticks it had created. I restarted Windows just to be sure it was truly dead. And now, force trim works for both Hueys and Apaches! Hooray!

THANKS!!! THAT WAS IT!!! VJOY DOES NOT LIKE TO PLAY WITH THE HUEY - or some other stuff.

If you are reading this post mortem -that's what went down. Go enjoy Your Huey.
