104th_Crunch Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Is it possible to force Vsync on when using Lock On in window mode? I tried forcing Vsync on in the Nvidia drivers but it will only work when LO is full screen mode and not window mode. Thanks
104th_Crunch Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 So then I guess ther the answer may be no vsync in a window with nvidia?
Axion Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I can not get Vsync to work in full screen using Vista 64 + GTX 280, even though it is forced on in the Nvidia control panel. Any ideas? 104th_Crunch Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 Hmm, I can always get vsync to work in Full Mode. I use www.nhancer.com/ It works like the Nvidia control panel but I like it better and I never had any issues with vsync in Full Mode using it. Now if someone could answer my question :)
Axion Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I found that If I run LO:FC in window mode it still fills my desktop (fullscreen) with the added bonus of removing the tearing I was suffering and increasing the frame rate and hence performance. The FPS counter also indicates frames way above the screens native resolution refresh rate. Asus Z390 Code XI, i9-9900K, RAM 32 Gig Corsair Vengeance @ 3200, RTX 2080 TI FE, TIR 5, Samsung 970 EVO 1TB, HOTAS WH, ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q, HTC Vive Pro, Win 10 x64

"Removing the tearing" would mean that vsync is working for you in window mode. Do you have nvidia card or ATI? Thanks
Axion Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I have a Nvidia GTX 280, and yes it does appear that Vsync is working in 'window' mode but by my understanding the FPS should not exceed (by much) my monitors refresh rate of 60 Hz? I also believe that Vsync at fullscreen may be a common issue with Vista 64 BIT. 104th_Crunch Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 Yes with Vsync is on you FPS will not be greater than your monitor's refresh rate. So 60 FPS for 60 Hxz LCD. If you are getting greater than 60fps you do ot have vsync enabled
