I am in the process of refining my controls setup. Now I wanted to start to use modifiers in the DCS controls setup, but I also wanted it to follow some logic instead of just randomly having second functions on a button/switch.

I have the winwing Orion 2 throttle and a TM Hornet stick.

1. On the WW throttle, I assigned the HMD rotary to...well you guessed it, the HMD brightness. I assighned the push function of that very same knob to be a modifier, so that with the rotary pushed, the rotation now increases/decreases NVG gain. This is already pretty nice, because it is somewhat intuitive. But I wanted to take this a step further and combine the same modifier with the Recce Mark button(which toggles the HMD on/off) on the Stick, so that it is then assigned to NVG toggle on/off. But when I assign that modifier and try to also assign the Recce button, it is not recognized.

So...must the modifier be on the same device as the button it is combined with? That would be pretty sad...

2. By the same kind of logic I wanted to assign a rotary to Altimeter pressure setting (which I did) and then use the same rotary pushed in (modifier) in order to increase/decrease the radar altimeter warning altitude. Problem here is, I can not find any button assignment for the radar altimeter setting? Am I just to blind?

1 - I use the middle mouse button as a modifier to do exactly what you're wanting to do.  Just tried that with one of the buttons on my WW Orion 1 throttle that I have set up as a modifier and it will let me assign a button on my TM grip (on Virpil WarBRD base).  Not sure why it doesn't work for you 🤔.

2 - it's under the completely obvious name of "PUSH TO TEST SWITCH".  Not sure why you couldn't find that one 🤣
