Wilk168 Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 (edited) So I just bought the WinWing Orion 2 Hotas system with the f-16ex stick. Here is my problem with this setup, I plug the base in, and it has life. The green light comes on and all is good with the world I have the base in SIMAPP etc. When i plug the stick in, the green light dies the base disappears off of SIMAPP and I have a really expensive paper weight. So the throttle, I have it setup, have my finger lifts going have the f-18 throttle screwed in plug it in and green lights everywhere. Everything is going my way, except i cant do anything with buttons on the throttle. My thinking is okay no big deal ill go in game and set this thing up, first thing I do go to map my gear with the corresponding switch on the Orion 2, flip it to go gear down and....... you guessed it nothing. No key map. What am I doing wrong? Im not tech illiterate, but this does not seem very intuitive at all! Any help anyone can provide would be most appreciative Wilk Edited August 16, 2022 by Wilk168
MustangSally Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 (edited) First up, dissconnect the base from the PC. Unscrew the locking collar and ensure you have correctly keyed the plug from the grip into the socket on the base. Once keyed correctly, push it in firmly, place the grip on the base and tighten the knurled locking collar. Then run up Simappro and plug your base back into the pc. Also ensure that the USB connector is firmly seated. Do all your throttle switches work in Simappro? When my Orion 1 and F16EX grip were delivered, the axes worked but none of the buttons were responding, but updating the firmware solved the issue.
