slyvenne Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Hello, I find that the AGM 122 antiradar missile was fitted on the apache. Does ED has an opinion about integrating this missile on the dcs AH64? That can be very useful against SAM radar. Thanks for your feedback. Slyvenne.
Dragon1-1 Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 (edited) On the AH-64A, maybe (it could carry the Sidewinder, of which Sidearm is a variant), but I don't think they were actually used, only tested. Sidearms were mostly used on Super Cobras and Harriers, which couldn't carry beefier ARMs. Sidearm was mostly a USMC weapon, which is why our Harrier has it. I don't know if it ever made it to operational Apaches, but it was made from Navy missiles (the AIM-9C, which was made for the Crusader), so I wouldn't expect them to be handed out to the Army. The AH-64D doesn't have the Sidewinder hardpoints any more, anyway. Edited August 16, 2022 by Dragon1-1 1
ED Team Raptor9 Posted August 16, 2022 ED Team Posted August 16, 2022 The AGM-122 is not planned nor would it be a realistic weapon for the AH-64. The AGM-122 was never carried by the AH-64, and such munition stocks were depleted long before the variant of the AH-64D that is being modeled was fielded to the US Army. Regarding the Sidewinder, it was only ever test fired and was never fielded to the US Army neither. 2 Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man.
