On/Off Option For Sonic Boom

Would it be possible to create an audio option to turn off sonic booms? They sound great, so much so that everyone in MP servers wants you to hear them, as often as possible. 

I suppose it's a wake up call when flying late at night, the neighbors certainly agree.

Breaking down the sound options would be nice. I remember when sonic booms were bugged for the longest time and were 5 times louder with distorted sound. You would either have to set the volume so low you couldn't hear anything but booms or avoid them like the plague in game to save your ears.
