Mission 14 AAA (spoilers)

Hey, when engaging the military compund 3 miles NW of the crash site, I get shot down every time by the AAA. I now this is supposed to be hard of course 🙂 And I could probably have Olive do all the dirty work, but what would I learn from that?

The issue for me is the weapon loadout, there's very limited stand-off capability, except the Maverick, but that's probably not enough to wipe out the compound (haven't tried). The CBU makes the most sense I think, but that requires that I come very close, and the fire is very accurate and punishing. Sometimes I will make it to pickle, but then get shot down immediately afterwards. Am I missing something or does anyone have a viable strategy?

I also find it pretty hard to escort those choppers, since they are so slow, but I've managed that, seems to be just the one village you have to call out, but does feel a bit janky.

What altitude are you flying when you pickle? I dropped rockeyes in AUTO mode from around 10k and had no trouble with the AAA.

@skey

I was definitely way lower than 10K 😄 I guess if you have the precision needed at that altitude, that's the way to go. But I was also using CCIP mode.

I totally had Olive do all that hard work. Foreshadowing to the Raven One mission where I had her strafe all the speedboats in the dark because I couldn't see any of them 🤣

Yeah. Why couldn't they give us some moon light to see them by? I am aiming at the labels set to minimum on that one. Such a simple fix.

IMO the problem is that speedboats don't have a wake anymore making them nearly impossible to spot, this is what it was like years ago:
