uTILLIty Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Hi! I've watched Producer's Note 10 and found the trimming to work fine in the training-misisons, where the FF mode is not active (for some reason?!). But in instant-action and the campaign, the FF mode does not precisely "save" my position but instead it pitches a bit down and to the left. I am using the newly bought Logitech Force 3D Pro (F3D). I've tried tuning using the "Profiler" software by softening the spring-back but nothing really helps. This causes the "hover" A/P to always drift and within minutes of "hovering" (starting at 5 clicks from the target) I'm suddenly only 1-2kms away. Is this a problem of my FF joystick or something I am missing? I am not able to find any settings which relate to FF in game. Also when switching back and forth between "profiler" and the game (instant action) to fine-tune the settings, they do not seem to take affect until I exit and re-enter the game comlpetely. regards, uTILLIty
BakaNi Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Trimming doesn't work with force feedback, you'll need to disable it in the Producer.cfg file. Here's hoping ED will fix it in a patch.
uTILLIty Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 is that a fact? I haven't read about this in the other threads - in a quick scan through them regards, uTILLIty
Shrubbo Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Are you sure? I don't have a FFB stick so I wouldn't know but leftside-limited.com has a demo of it working... http://leftside-limited.com/projects.html Scroll down to Trim with Force Feedback i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. uTILLIty Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 these videos are just for the show. The guys move the stick around so fast and hit trim so rude, that the stick keeps moving. if you'd move a stick like that in a real heli or in the sim, you'd be grounded. I'd like to see what the HELO is doing, when they move around like that. Does is really PRECISELY stay on the position, or not? My FF locks SOMEWHERE NEAR WHERE I've placed it aswell, but not enough to keep the helo positioned. regards, uTILLIty
Shrubbo Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Heh soz to be clear I was responding to Baka, but like I said I don't use FFB so no idea. i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Thrustmaster Warthog T&S, TPR Pedals.
uTILLIty Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 ok, thanks. I believe not all FF devices are equally usable for BS - thanks for the link, though! Nice videos on that page! regards, uTILLIty
BakaNi Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 (edited) ok, thanks. I believe not all FF devices are equally usable for BS - thanks for the link, though! Nice videos on that page! I think one guy managed to get his microsoft stick working, by swapping the ffb axis. However, none of my ffd sticks work correctly :( They neither stay in place when trimmed, or trim the chopper. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35039&highlight=frustrated&page=3 - That is the thread I first noticed that mentions problems with forcefeed back and trim. opformaster Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 This is a good thread that explains allot about what to expect with the trimmer while using a FFB stick http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35444&highlight=trimmer. It is my understanding that the FCD only has 20% authority over the flight controls. If you try and put the cyclic in a position that is outside that 20% authority it will move to a position that it can hold. My FFB stick is based on a used Logitech Wingman force 3D board and it works as described. Rig Specs: AMD FX-60 @ 2.6ghz - DFI Lanparty SLI UT - 4gb Mushkin Redline Ram - WD Raptor 300gb HDD - EVGA 260GTX 940mb - SoundBlaster something Live:P - Samsung 20.1" Syncmaster 204B (Camera) and Shuttle 17" xp17 (Abris & Shkval) Flight Controls: Franken Force CH 568/Logitech Wingman Force 3D Hybrid - CH Pro Throttle - Logitech Momo Wheel Conversion to FFB pedals - Belkin N52
MatGreGor Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I have the microsoft sidewinder FFB and work great with BS, like real BS. Another joys no work fine, Urze from Leftside-limited.com explain that in this thread:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35239&page=3#23 Greets.
