oibafx Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 (edited) Most people who have tried to create some nice footage of DCS World have quickly realized how difficult smooth camera movements are. It really is a headache to try and move the camera for cinematic purposes in the F11 view. I therefore wish for a tool, which allows you to create camera movement easily. You set start and end point and the duration of the motion. The tool then computes the position of the camera for every frame, creating a beautiful camera movement. It is, of course, possible to expand the features of this a lot, like giving us the ability to add multiple "waypoints", play with the FOV and so on. This is common in many games and makes video creation a lot easier. Maybe there even is an in-house solution to this for Eagle Dynamics, since it would be extremely useful for their trailers. In addition to the obvious features, this also benefits the popularity of DCS World. Better videos of the sim means more people get interested, right? Also, an easier way of creating those videos might get more people to do videos as well... Let me know what you think about this. Edited September 15, 2022 by oibafx 2
Zanimoniak Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 I think a cinematic editor would be a brilliant addition to DCS. Not only to make recordings easy to edit, but also to bring low budget film studios to use the simulator. Some of the features I'd expect to see have to do with camera positioning, both static in space or attached to an object with option to change position, angle, zoom, and to follow other objects.
MiG21bisFishbedL Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 We have *some*, but more would be nice. 1 Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!
