abram Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 ...But i pulled through, i forgot the mission name but it was the one where you had to take back the FARP from enemy hands...lots of aa and a couple sams...lost main and standby hydraulics and managed to get the bird down in one piece (kind of) notice i loss all primary and backup options for my landing gear, so i put her down on her belly! With NO help from autopilot systems (all stability systems were down) :thumbup:

Buznee Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 since you lost both your hydraulics were the flight controls very sluggish? I would think that would be the case since they drive the actuators the tilt the swashplate.
abram Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 surprisingly, controls were still very much active...very hard to stabilize though, not sure if that was the autopilot failure or not...
miguez Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 It would depend on how long you flew after loosing both hydraulics, and how much movement you had on the flight controls. What happens in this case is there is a hydraulic accumulator that will provide you pressure for some time, usually so that you have control while trying to put her down after such damage.
