Smartie Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 (edited) Am I right in saying that enemy units like the zsu-23 should show up on the a-10's rwr display? I ask because I've created a number of missions for my brother & I to fly on multiplayer but the rwr just isn't displaying things like the zsu-23 even though I've added quite a few of them on the missions. I've flown all around where the zsu-23's are, close enough to get shot at but still the rwr shows nothing, & yep before anyone ask the radar isn't set to `lanuch` mode. What's really strange is that suddenly the 23 has appeared on the rwr, on the inner cirlce for a zsu-23 that I had previously flown close to and had no warnings shown on the radar display. I might be missing something really obvious but I've watched the a-10 rwr training vid by ironhand & the rwr clearly displays any zsu-23's that are in range, so why isn't it the same on my game :helpsmilie: Edited January 6, 2009 by Smartie
beastiole Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Hi, I'm trying to complete the A10 campagne with a Flaming Cliffs version of Lock On (1.12b), and it seems that I have the same problem : RWR in the A10 do not detect any Strela or Shilka. Is it a known problem or modification from this version ? It was working correctly with the 1.02 version. Is there a way to get the threat detection back ? Thanks, J.
Vekkinho Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Make sure those Shilkas are not skilled to average, cause average AA units don't appear in the RAW. What seems to me is that ED tried to convince us that average units are not capable of operating a radar Try the same with High or Excellent and you'll see 'em in RWR! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
beastiole Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Yes, thanks you for your reply. You are right for the Shilkas detection. And I can understand why they shoot me only when I passed over them ... (I forgot that these Strelas don't have radar ... but only IR guided missiles) Thx J.
pauldy Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 In my experience, The Shilkas will only illuminate you with radar once your close to their firing range. Haven't tried fighting against Strelas though.. I believe it's not really the A-10's job to take them out anyway. It's the SEAD planes that should face them. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
S77th-konkussion Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Using your jammers will effect the range at which the Shilky lights you up. With jammers on by the time he's on your RWR he's on the verge of opening fire. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
