Achernar Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Hi, I've purchased 2 new hard drives for my Vista x64 computer and am wondering what will happen with my activation of DCS when I install the Hard drives. I've use Norton Ghost 14 to make a full backup/image of my C drive which contains Vista and DCS. Does anyone know what will happen to my activation after I re-image the new drive? Achernar
Airway Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Hello! Is this helpful? An activation will be required if the hardware/software changes exceed 12 points as rated below: CPU ID: 13 Windows PID: 3 Computer Name: 3 Hard drive volume serial number: 3 MAC address: 6 RAM amount: 6 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=568704&postcount=3

Achernar Posted January 10, 2009 Author Posted January 10, 2009 To clarify.. When you say you cloned it and started up fine, did you perform the deactivation first or did you do nothing with DCS on the cloned drive?
