DroptheHammer Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Hello all, I've got some missions that I want to practice in various conditions but I'd prefer not to keep opening, changing and saving every time I get a new version. I'd like to script the following but I'm not sure where the various variables lie within the .miz. Each mission would be split into the following. Daytime - mostly clear Afternoon - Heavy IMC / Rain Night - Clear with moonlight Night - IMC conditions For example I have a training range file that I use. Rather than replicating each of these I'd love to automatically split that file (as I upgrade it from time to time) into the 4 with the time/weather presets. Grimes Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Within the .miz each of these are found in the mission file. Mission is basically a big lua table so you have different entries for what needs to be changed. date : if you want to change the day, month year weather : for changing the weather settings. It would be a good idea to make a mission with the weather you want, save it, and then copy the contents of that weather table. start_time : found within the first level of the table for defining the start. Its counted in seconds after midnight for the set day. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Dangerzone Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 WinMerge may be your friend. My suggestion is to get a mission, save it. Make the change to weather only, and then save the file again. Extract the files from the 2 .miz files and use WinMerge to quickly see where the differences are. Not only handy for weather, but any other settings you may be interested in finding out where they're set.
