This looks great.

I love the addition of the "Black Shark" writing in Hebrew (Karish Shachor).

 

Two comments:

1. A giant yellow "V" is missing. It is used to help ground forces identify IAF helos. (See following AH-64D photo)

2. The hebrew writing needs to be done in a different font - all IAF aircrafts that have a name written on them have the writing in "Writing" ("Ktiv") and not "Printing" ("Dfus") form. (See attached pic for reference)

3. All IAF helos have black rotor blades, and not desert tan. I believe this is because of material limitations and performance issues.

4. All IAF helos that are camoflauged-colored are only desert tan and brown colored - there are no camo schemes that use light green.

1. Yellow V is not missing. The sample heli don't have one.

2. This type of font was suggested by experinced IAF ex pilot.

3. Photo shows yellow rotor blades and grey rotor stock.

4. Photographed heli do have green color.

2. The font looks great, but I was pointing to a fact that you might want to consider to maintain the high level of realism.

3. I should have pointed out that all helos used today by the IAF have black rotor blades.

4. The photos are of an old Bell 205. All of those were retired circa 1976 and replaced by newer Bell 212 (seen in the background, painted brown). That camo scheme was never used again after that period of time. Today, either a helo is painted entirely brown or entirely black or in a tan-brown camo mix.

This paint scheme is just an alternative to modern scheme made by =FV=MAD.

Yellow rotor blades comply standard YASSUR 875 (1991). FS30219 Tan

About the rotor blades - after another inspection, I would like to correct myself: all helos EXCEPT the Cobra have black rotor blades. The Cobra has tan blades.

Please see the CH-53 photo in this page, dated June 29th 2006. A lot can change in 15 years...

Subject is - there are lots of opinions where to place this sign. I used most first opinion and implemented it. ED liked the skin, so I see no point in getting angry or something.

 

If sign is the case I can personally send this part of texture to You. But You need to point exact desired position of the sign. :)

When patch is out You'll be able to customize existing texture in easy way. OK?

The rotor blades of the Ka-50 made from carbon-filled composite material with steel front edge which usually not paint.

And no where are we to assume that this sim is rendering our current time-frame. Look at the antiquated cockpit. It could easily be from the early 90s ...

Pertaining to the IAF color-scheme, it really depends on the time frame under discussion.

 

As an IAF/IDF fanatic what better thread to post my first message in?!

 

Advent_m is correct in both points regarding the rotor blades currently being black and the fact that you will not, for the most part, find green in any current paint scheme as they are almost ALL brown or sand+brown.

 

There are a few olive drab AH-64_ variations still but they are few and the exception rather than the rule.

 

Also, the yellow "V" is so iconic and commonplace that it really is a must for any skin with a desire for authenticity. This is true for the IDF vehicles as well btw.

 

I'd love to do an IAF skin if there is room for more.

The "V" on IDF vehicles is never yellow and slant. It is used for a different purpose than the IAF "V".
