Elphaba
Kind of like all players (are supposed to listen to Guard at all times) so too this VOIP chat should have the option to always listen to the 'lobby' so when people die they can still talk to the group, and talk to the group before a mission has even been loaded. This is key for MP / Dedicated Server environments. At the moment switching between TS, VOIP and even Discord is a PITA - it would be great if this could handle it all. Probably by being an external app to DCS that launches with the game and runs all the time even when you're not in a mission.

How is this any different to Discord? In our squadron we keep Discord on in the background, with each flight in its own voice channel, then simply mute the Discord mic on spawn. If someone dies or DCS crashes, they can still talk to the rest of the flight immediately by unmuting their Discord input. Seems to work pretty seamlessly for us, so maybe I’m not understanding the issues correctly. Edited November 22, 2022 by norman99

So even if you bind something toggle the mic, you'll keep triggering that on another controller. We have people from all over the world and bandwidth becomes an issue; if everything was in 'one' package, it would reduce the headroom required for running multiple services in the background. norman99
Fair enough. Whilst I haven’t experienced these issues personally, I can understand how frustrating they may be.
