parxuk Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Absolutely gutted. Not played DCS for a few months as I just started a new job and have been concentrating on that. Feeling like I have a bit more time on my hands now and fancied a flight in DCS, only to find that my Warthog throttle is not detected. Tried different USB ports, rebooted PC and even tried in another PC but to no avail. Anyone experienced this and had any success in fixing? I have seen the hardware Warthog bootloader suggested so may try that, but would like to know if anybody would recommend any other course of action. To potentially compliacte things I have the Delta sim slew mod installed. How does this affect anything I do? Would really appreciate any assistance so that I can get flying again. parxuk Posted November 27, 2022 Author Posted November 27, 2022 Replying to myself: As mentioned I would appreciate any help, but in the meantime this crazy temporary workaround allows the throttle to function: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/252477-temporary-fix-for-bricked-warthog-throttle/ Intel i7 8700K @ 5Ghz, Aorus Z370 Gaming5, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3000MHz, Nvidia 3080Ti FE, Samsung 970 NVME, Samsung 512GB EVO SSD x 2, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Rudder Pedals, HP Reverb G2, Windows 11 x64, DCS Modules = FC3, A10c Warthog, F14 Tomcat, F18 Hornet, F16 Viper, Persian Gulf, Syria.
Drakoz Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 I just posted a comment on the above thread about dropping the USB voltage to make a non-working Warthog work. It is very uncommon that dropping the voltage to a power supply would make something work, but I have questions and suggestions in the other thread as to what might be happening. Not solutions, though, as the issue is definitely something wrong with the Warthog.
daddy1schlich Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Hi - Recently, my Warthog Dual Throttle was no longer detected by my Windows 10 PC. After a few instances where the lights flickered on and then off, plugging into a USB port resulted in the USB sound response but it was clear that system was not reading the Warthog successfully. (see attached files). I contacted Thrustmaster Support by via email and a message on their website (I had registered my Throttle). They asked me to run their Bootloader procedure from multiple USB ports. That failed to load the "bulk" drivers mentioned early in that procedure before you can update the firmware. After that, they offered to sell me a replacement PCB board (US $50, including Express Shipping), and provided instructions for repair. Just went into the Throttle this morning and successfully replaced the board, and everything seems to be running fine - knock on wood. They generally replied to my emails/messages within a couple of business days - so not the horror stories I was reading about from a couple of years ago. Hope this helps by providing a recent example. Daddyschlich Hotas Warthog - Throttle PCB replacement.pdf
