TonyP Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I'm attempting to perform a coordinate fix using the Shkval, my fix point is a few "klicks" off-the route. The flight manual says, Set "И-251В – ПРОЛ” (I-251V Shkval – Fly over) switch to "И-251В” (I-251V Shkval) on the PVI-800. " Where is this fly-over switch on the PVI-800? I'm looking at the PVI and can't seem to see anything that says "fly-over". I'm not sure if something is lost in translation from Russian to English.
Frederf Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 It's the one at the bottom of the PVI panel that says INU (up) UPDATE (down) just to the right of the PVI mode selector knob and to the left of the DL/PVI connection switch. The up position is for the Shkval and the down position is for flyover. I was just complaining that this English switch label is not very helpful.
TonyP Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 Thanks, found it. I agree the English translation has no "fly-over" description. If it wasn't for these bulletin boards, I'd never would be able to fly this helo.
Franky__ Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I am in trouble to do position fixing by SHKVAL. I do every steps by the manual but the nav fix message from the ekran doesn't disappear. When I do the fly-over method, this message just goes off, it works fine. And I don't get any "Correction" message on the HUD, just a number starts to count down but when it comes to 0 nothing happens. Has anybody any idea what should be the problem?
