Hi there,

I'm completely stuck on 'On the other side' mission of the first campaign. I can make it over the mountains just fine. Then I wait and the ingres point and eventually get shot down by 2 Hinds. I've flown this mission about 5 or 6 times now and I'm about to give up on this game because of the frustration. I've tried waiting and hoping the fixed wing cover take them out. I've tried going in quick to avoid them. I've tried shooting them down and I've tried telling my wingmen to atk bandits / cover me. Nothing has worked.

Any ideas?

Make sure all lights on your aircraft are turned off. Don't go to the engagement zone until Hinds show, wait at ingress point. There are some forests near ingress point, wait over them at low altitude. Tell your wingmen to attack air targets. Do that constantly. Target detection algorithm for AI is complex: AI is also effected by cockpit obscurities, background, lights and etc. Ingress point is in the valley and you know where Hinds are coming from; you have pretty small space to scan to find them. Just don't go to the camp, until Hinds are not downed.

Had the same problem first time - I was too sure in my wingmen that they will shot down the Hinds.

So what happen the second time:

I moved about a 1,5 km from IP to the camp with all wingmen being assigned to shoot at something.

30 secs after two Hinds showed up above the ridge on the other side of the camp: NOW, make sure the targeting computer has the AIRBORNE TARGETS mode ON; wide zoom to visually scan for the Hind (if you are low, close to the valley floor you'll be able to see the Hinds easier) - Lock - Zoom - Shoot Vikhr.... (If they get below 2 km shoot them with the cannon)

One Hind was down, meanwhile I assigned wingman #4 to attack Bogeys (I just tought I'm gonna need help because the Hind was too close) - Wm#4 eventually replied Affirm; I tried to target the second Hind but he was already firing at me so I made evasive action while the Hind chased. Wingman #4 got a good chance to shoot and there was the end for the Hind.

After that the camp was a turkey shooting :)

Good luck

Come on now... Sent your flight to engage bandits, your wingman’s will sort them out like pigeons sorts out sunflower seeds... Wingman’s will report Hinds approaching (don't mix it with Su25, they will get sorted by Su27), so as soon as your wingman’s reports Hinds, sent your flight to engage them, type in: # F1 F1 F3 and "problem" sorted. Easy peezy... Good luck.
