BalticDude Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 (edited) Sometimes I am unable to move the sight around when I did all the steps and turn observe on. It just doesn't let me. Any idea what I'm doing wrong or what I can do to fix it so I can move around the periscope? Does it have something to do with warming something up before I activate observe? I just turned everything on really fast, is there a guide to how you're supposed to do it properly and what steps to take at what times? I heard that you need to let it spool up before the gyros work or something like that. Anyone know how it works? Lastly, when I want to use R-60M, should I turn off everything before my pilot uses the missiles, or is there a proper procedure to swap back and forth? Petrovich seems to be able to do it almost instantly. Thanks. Edited December 28, 2022 by BalticDude
AeriaGloria Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 I think Miki answered you in other thread that there is 3.5 minute warm up when first powering front seat periscope to heat up gyros and system, and that there is 10 second delay for gyros to spin up after turning on observe. As for R-60. It all depends if launchers are on. For example, I can track someone with periscope, lock with R-60, and fire. You can even fire ATGM while getting R-60 tone on the missile. However, if you lock target with periscope, and don’t turn on launchers, you will only fire ATGM. Since it takes 10 seconds for missiles to cool when turning on launcher, that means you have 10 seconds delay from being able to fire ATGM, turn on launchers, and have R-60 ready to fire. No it's not that. We waited minutes for it to start moving and it remained caged. We see that there's input with both the mouse and joystick but it's still caged. I'm thinking maybe we have to turn the missile and guidance systems on and then don't hit observe until after like 3 mins for it to warm up? You think that's the problem? If we turn off all the systems and swap to R-60M, fire and then swap back, we get the same problem of not being able to uncage. We just can't move it around. Are you also thinking we have to turn them on and wait minutes before hitting observe so it will let us move the periscope around?

This is the manual procedure, that tutorial will also teach Front seat three switchers that are linked together for weapons by left shoulder, missile power, pylon selector, and power switch by observe are turned on Wait 3.5 minutes Then you can turn on observe, and sight will work in 10 seconds I got this just by doing the tutorial a few times Edited December 28, 2022 by AeriaGloria Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
