Just be sure the throttle is past idle and the finger lifts are down. Just a note is i fly the f-18. Another thing about the winwing throttle is if you have a toggle set for an action the game reads the toggle postion and may set the ac in that mod at start up. Example: i changed the flaps toggle to "active pause" and "pause" , got stumped a few times and could not get the jet to move because it was still reading "active pause" and so the ship would not move. I don't think I did that, but's it possible. Both the SimAppPro and the Windows 10 calibration show nothing at all coming from the Rx throttle. Not sure what those green dots indicate but it would appear it is permanently stuck in the OFF position. And if there is some button on the Throttle base to turn it back on again, I am completely unaware of it. Like most things! Thank you
NIGHTHAWK1 Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 I am no expert but did you also check all of the DCS controller settings. Especially for the ac u r using, and under both UI interface and General. I know when i first got my winwing there were a lot of settings that had to be changed to get it to work properly. I-9 12900K, RTX 3090, 64 GB, 2TB SSD, Oculus Quest 2, Win 11, Winwing Orion F-16EX Stick, F-18 dual throttle, Thrustmaster TPR pedals.
rob10 Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 The lack of voiceover could well be due to the right engine not running. If it is set to "transmit" over the radio you might get the text on screen but no voice since the radio is dead. Are you seeing either the green dot below the right throttle or the one to the right of it? If the one on the bottom is staying on no matter where you put the throttle (which symptoms sound like) unassign it from Throttle (Right) OFF(hold)<>IDLE. If it's not going off and you have it assigned it will keep the engine from starting no matter where the throttle is. Are you seeing any movement of the throttle in SimAppPro? If you had loose screws/parts moving around from the fingerlifts it's possible a wire got damaged.

Everything was working just fine prior to my attempt to park the Hornet and then move the throttles to off. Or maybe I am being punished for running over those three army guards who are too ignorant to move out of the way. (Unlike the sailors on the Super Carrier who will move!)

Yes, the green dot below the right throttle indicator in SimAppPro is on while the left throttle green light is off. There is no movement at all in SimAppPro leading me to believe it is either defective (because I have never put the throttles to off when in game) or perhaps the nut from the screw did damage something. Though I think it did fall down into that area I would "feel" something if it was tearing up a wire. Even starting the game with no throttle and stick I am still not hearing the voiceover and none of the audio settings appear to be changed. I guess the next test would be to also unplug my pedals and try to reset everything to default. I was hoping I could somehow SAVE the profile to create a new one but I guess I have to use a different login? I really did not expect the hardware to go bad so quickly but was worried in the event there was a problem to return something to WinWing. Obviously if the screw did cause this, it is my fault for not checking every single nut and bolt for tightness after assembling the thing, which was not really simple given the rather poor instructions.
NIGHTHAWK1 Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 There is a person on this forum who is a WINWING representative. The call sign is "Winwing". Maybe try puttting winwing in your title and see if he can help you. I-9 12900K, RTX 3090, 64 GB, 2TB SSD, Oculus Quest 2, Win 11, Winwing Orion F-16EX Stick, F-18 dual throttle, Thrustmaster TPR pedals.

Excellent... because when I start trying to get him from their "support" they will see all the negative comments I will be posting about WinWing until I get it resolved. Thanks
NIGHTHAWK1 Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Please do not get to hard on winwing yet. I have had mine (Orion 2 F-16 EX Joystick and Orion 2 F-18 throttle) for only a few weeks. I was frustrated at first also. If you spend some time reading these forums you will find that most of the time the problem(s) is in the controller set-ups. Both winwing and DCS have a lot of presets for controllers. Please be sure you have gone to the 'settings' page on the opening DCS UI, and to controls, both 'all but axis commands' and 'axis commands'. There are a multitude of options for throttle and thrust. Make sure they are all set up correctly and are no double assignments. As well check 'sound' on the settings tabs and verify those are set up correctly. Is 'radio speech' checked. Verify when in your cockpit that your radios are configured correctly. Also on the settings page under 'game play' there is option for "easy communication", see if setting that to easy helps. The F/A-18 is a complicated aircraft and takes a lot of study to learn to operate it correctly, it is a 'study level' aircraft. Also check under settings if you have set 'Game flight mode', this changes some things too. I hope this helps. I have 450 hours of DCS time, as many hours reading the forums and watching training videos, (only about 50 flight hours in the Hornet pit) and still learning every day. BTW - when you resolve a problem it is always nice to here from you and post the solutiion on the forum so others can learn. Good Luck May you have as many landings as take-offs! On Saturday, I installed these brackets, which are a bit pricey but are very sturdy and were pretty easy to install. https://www.amazon.com/MOUNT-Desk-Mount-Compatible-Thrustmaster-Installation/dp/B08QRCW6SN?ref_=ast_sto_dp This allowed me to change my ergonomics so that I could properly use my CH PRO pedals as brakes and for the rudder. This made a huge change in my ability to not destroy the plane when landing and thus take off and land from several Caucus airfields and thus even land at the original field and take to the parking space. I do still suck however. This is when I decided to try to shut down the engines with the engines with the throttles. When I came back after lunch, it was a mess.
NIGHTHAWK1 Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 BTW I just ordered those desk mounts, just what i have been looking for. I-9 12900K, RTX 3090, 64 GB, 2TB SSD, Oculus Quest 2, Win 11, Winwing Orion F-16EX Stick, F-18 dual throttle, Thrustmaster TPR pedals.
